Sheriff declares Logan County a Sanctuary County for the 2nd Amendment

Logan County Sheriff Damon Devereaux, the Oklahoma Sheriff's Association 2018 Sheriff of the Year, has declared Logan County to be a 'Second Amendment Sanctuary County', vowing to not enforce any law that infringes upon the right to keep and bear arms.
Sanctuary status for the 2nd Amendment is a grassroots movement that is sweeping the nation; Sheriff Devereaux appears to be the first government official in Oklahoma to join the action in any sort of official way.

The movement began in states like Illinois, where new Democratic leadership embarked on aggressive gun-control campaigns. It spread slowly but surely over the past few years, and with the election of Gov. Ralph Northam and a Democratic majority in Virginia intent on passing major gun-rights restrictions took off like wildfire in Virginia.

States and counties that have passed Second Amendment sanctuary laws or resolutions as of February 3, 2020.
