Guy Barker, Secretary-Treasurer of the Quapaw Nation, announced yesterday that he is launching a campaign for the U.S. Congress in District 2. Barker becomes the 10th publicly announced Republican candidate to join the race since incumbent Congressman Markwayne Mullin launched his campaign for U.S. Senate, opening the seat up for the first time since 2012. The news was first broken by KOSU: Barker says he will use his real-world experience to address the nation’s most pressing issues, which he identifies as inflation, rising energy prices and border security.  "Far too often, Americans are saddled with ineffective leaders that merely talk about our Nation’s issues but lack determination and experience to get the job done," said Barker.
